Processor: AMD Athlon X2 dual core

I'm trying to hook my PC to dual monitors, a DVI and HDMI. I want to hook up my PC and PS3 to an HDMI switcher so it can both hook to my HDMI monitor. Now my DVI is my primary monitor. However, I can't get the PC to show up on the secondary. But my PS3 works fine. Is there something I can do to fix this?

Did you remember to switch the inputs on the HDMI switch to the input of your PC instead of the PS3?

The inputs are correct. But sometimes when I turn on the PS3 and switch the input and then switch back, the computer won't recognize anymore and requires a restart. Even when the PS3 isn't on, it intermittently loses signal too. I think it might be the switcher because without it, both work fine without any loss of signal. If it is the switcher, does anyone know what brand is the cheapest that doesn't screw up? I don't need Monster brand or anything... just something that does its job and doesn't burn a hole in my wallet. Working on a budget for this.
