hp Laptop hdmi to TV= no sound

Hi, I have a HP pavilion dv6 Laptop. I am trying to connect to my LG lcd TV via ATI HDMI output but I get no audio, only video! I have been into the sound settings and set HDMI as the default sound and it says its working properly, however when i do a sound test it says "error! unable to play test tone"! I know it is not the Cable or the TV as i use them both for my PS3!
Can anyone help me, spend hours last night trying to figure it out and surfing the web with no success also Hp support is ****!!!

This and a few other places is where we set WMP, Windows and other apps to send audio over HDMI. It does not work with all machines or HDTVs but many didn't know to look here.

1- go to sound option

2-click on TV showing on the sound option

3- your in properties find high definition audio device click on properties

4- your in high definition audio device click on properties click on change settings

5- click on DRIVER option

6- click on ROLL BACK DRIVER IF THAT DONT WORK TRY TO UPDATE DRIVER

My tv is UN32D4000ND and my laptop is dv6t-2000 connected via HDMI. The OS is Windows 7. I already went to Control Panel-Sound-On tab Playback I set the default on SPDIF (Digital Out via HP Dock) but still I can't hear anything from the TV. Appreciate all the help.

Get it working on the laptop again, then off to sound select that HDMI thing for the speakers (in my example some HDMI HP display.)

It's working fine now. I restarted the laptop with tv powered on. Thanks for the help.
