My dads IBM R31 laptop suddenly would not boot. After Windows (XP) started to load, an error popped up saying "msvcp60.dll cannot be found." The computer does not get any farther than that. After doing working on it for a long while, we formatted the computer and reinstalled Windows. Windows installed fine, however, the WIFI adapter would not work.
We thought it was just the port. So my dad took out the WIFI adapter and placed it in another IBM R31 laptop. Now this second laptop will not boot because of the same problem - "msvcp60.dll cannot be found." This R31 worked fine beforehand.
Things we did:
Off Hirens 10.1-
Every program off the bootable DOS programs
Spybot S&D
CCleaner
Hijack This
Windows Repair off installation disc.
Any suggestions on why this is happening?
