So, I have this three year old laptop I may sell or donate. I bought it with Vista Premium installed. I was one of the early adopters for Windows 7 and downloaded it on the day of its debut. Six months later I purchased an upgraded to Win7 Pro.
I'd like to sell the laptop or give it to a family member, and there's just so much weird configuring and files I've forgotten about, I should just reformat the drive and reinstall the OS.
If I want to make sure Win 7 Pro is installed, what's the process for reformatting? Do I install the Vista OS, then reinsall Win 7 (I think I can access a backup download), then install the Anytime upgrade, or is there a way I can make a system recovery disk of the system at its present state, and reinstall the OS from the recovery disk?
