un55c7000 Blacks being Crushed, and Pixilated?

My set is about a month old, and Yesterday, it seemed as if the TV couldn't handle the color Black. In scenes where black was present, it would pixilate, or get "blocky" within the color black. it was very odd, and very profound. I have not tried any other connection, But the source media was via Time warner 720p HD content show on Fox called lie to me. I then turned to another show, and agin it was doing the same thing on the color black. I am unsure of what this is even called, so Im unsure what i should say or search even? Thanks for any help, with something that I dont even know what its doing? sad

Droozy,

Check to see if it's happening with other inputs. I wonder if the broadcast for shows may be the issue, or if this is something done by the TV. It could be either, but since there is pixilation in progress, try resetting or updating your cable/sat box if you have one. If you want to try to do your own reset, unplugging the unit for a minute should do it. If it needs an update, the service provider can do that, usually while you're on the phone.

Oddly It only started happening after engaging the TV to take 2d Content into 3d Content. Ever since, that is what my TV is doing on any input, on any content. Finally checked my samsung HT-C6930 Bluray player via 1.4 hdmi, plugged in the new movie Devil and again in the dark scenes in the elevator, the same artifacts showed. Like Compression artifacts, yet in bright scenes the picture is top notch. I also thought that maybe it was my picture settings that were calibrated.... nope.... the HT-C 6930 uses BD-Wise and changes picture settings.

Guess i better call samsung? I am at a loss for words, as Dell won't help either, by saying "the TV is past 21 days old. You must contact Samsung."

The Good news is they exchanged the TV (samsung) to a 2011 model D7000.

The bad news is my 4 3d Glasses are not paper weights, with samsung only offering to refund the price paid on the starter kit that I purchused, and a email with a yay or nay on a refund for the promotional bundle glasses that came with the TV purchuse. Jeez samsung.... just want to exchange the glasses for ones that will work. Its not my fault that samsung no longer produces this TV, and alas my TV broke within 2 months. Do they even sell the new 2011 glasses yet? End Rant.
