So I'm not sure if I'm experiencing hardware failure, i suspect my gpu or psu, or a driver failure. I started having issues after updating my nvidia 8800gt driver to the version that was released on January 8, 2011. A few days after i installed this driver, my problem started. My computer will start normally, but usually about 10 minutes into being on the screen quickly flashes and everything freezes (music sometimes continues to play or becomes severely distorted). Upon restarting the boot screen is distorted and when i get to my desktop dxdiag finds no driver or graphics card and i am stuck in 800x600. ive tried loading from safe mode and completely erasing the new driver and reinstalling the old one but the problem persists. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
My System: Intel Q6600 quad core @ 2.4ghz, Nvidia 8800gt, 2gb ram, 450(?)w psu, Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit
