Update Manager - General Error

AVG 9.0.872
Virus DB 271.1.1/3511
I also have Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware installed
I get the general error message five minutes after "preparing to install update"

Download the latest of both those items then uninstall both and reinstall both then update again.

I've lost count.
